Opinions of the mother on the "The Tale Of The Crimson Clown" episode?

I personally didn't care for the mother, especially with the way how she gave the brunt of her anger to Mike (the good, well behaved son) and barely did anything to her younger son Sam (the mischievous son), also at the dinner table she was being nicer to Sam than Mike.

I couldn't help but feel bad for Mike that he'd gotten the brunt of the mother's wrath when it was really Sam that caused all of the trouble.
