Boston accent

I don't have a good ear for accents, but I've read that a Boston accent is one of the more difficult ones to nail for an actor. How do you think Holly Hunter's take on it measures up? It sounds a bit, well, heavy.

reply

The horrible accents (not just Holly's) were jarring enough that they broke the 4th wall for me frequently.

Which was actually a good thing, because by being continually reminded that it was all fake, I didn't get as teary-eyed at the end as I would have otherwise.

I think it does...it's hard to do and admirable, considering that Holly grew up in the backwoods of Georgia. It was a bit heavy at times, but she did sound very Bostonian. She looked the part perfectly also.

I've read that Holly is actually part, if not mostly Italian also.
