Hated this movie.

Disturbing, boring, lame..............I don't know what else to say. It went nowhere, noone ends up happy and it goes and leads NOWHERE. Waste of my time on this planet watching this junk. Some indie films are amazing, the others are just blah.

I like all sorts of films be it blockbuster or indy and this movie was just pitiful. Why anyone would want to star in a movie with Keanu Reeves and his stellar acting skills is beyond me. Quite possibly one of the worst, most pointless movies I've ever seen. I was intrigued after reading, "Last Night at the Viper Room" to see some of River's movies other than "Stand By Me" because I'm convinced he was going to be one of the greats. His acting is the only good thing about this movie.

Yeah, I didn't like it, either.

I've enjoyed a few dark and weird movies in my lifetime - but this wasn't one of them. And I never want to watch this again. However, River Phoenix shined as usual.

The acting and characters are great, but I agree. There's something missing. It's not the introspective nature or meandering narrative. It just feels a bit incoherent, like a series of great scenes strung together by an unsteady thread. I felt the same way about Sophia Coppola's "Somewhere".

I kind of agree.. I'm a big fan of River, not just of his looks or his acting, but of his personality. Everyone in River's fandom, and people in general, seem to hype this movie up. I had seen some scenes, such as the campfire one, previously but I watched it over the weekend (finished it today since the video kept freezing). I am let down.

Last Tuesday I watched Dogfight in its entirety for the first time, I loved it so much. I feel like it's a movie that will never get old for me since it's so fantastic and perfectly plotted together in my opinion. So I'm very shocked that although Dogfight has good reviews, it isn't loved in River's fandom like MOPI is.

I feel like MOPI was strung together and didn't have a good overarching story or a satisfying ending. Mike didn't find his mother, Scott pretty much abandoned Mike, almost no one is happy by the time it ends, etc. It just ends on a cliffhanger with nothing resolved, back to square one. I guess it's true to real life, but I felt like the character of Mike deserved better. Despite its overwhelming positive reviews, River's acting was the best part of this movie by far.
