One of the worst movies I've ever seen

This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen, and that's saying something! I tried to stick it out to the end, I really did, but I just couldn't take it any more. I finally turned it off near what I assume was the end, but then again I thought the movie should have ended much before I turned it off. Maybe that was the humor Brooks was going for in this film, that people are stupid enough to watch it through to the end, I don't know. He almost got me with it, I am the kind of person who will sit through mind-numbing media trying to find the pearl of excellence that others claim in them. This is one of the few films I gave up on. There is no pearl in this one. Watch "The Producers" instead.

I remember watching this years ago and being disappointed by the lack of silliness seen in other Brooks films. I think his movies work better when one the 2 main characters are not Brooks.

Saying "Life stinks" is the worst film ever means either the person doesn't care much about Mel brooks or see only a few films in his entire life to reach a level of understanding of what filmaking is about. This film is actually very typical of Mel brooks in terms of style, jokes and the issues related to poverty and homeless that can be seen in some of the scenes of either "History of the world" or "Silent Movie". Mel Brooks is a great american comedian and a film like life stink should be regarded not only just as a comedy.

This is without a doubt his worst movie. Spaceballs is his second worst.

Dracula: Dead and Loving it is even better than this.

I have to agree. It was a terribly serious movie. I mean it was trying to be serious and have a "message" and not just be the funny movies Mel Brooks usually makes.

Unfortunately it could have used more funny and no message.

You must be one of those rich Wall Street criminals who profited from the meltdown. The idea is that it shows a system in this country that no one cares about. I hope you end up homeless one day.

I saw this movie a few times when it came out: 1991-2ish. I was probably 11-13 years old and it was hilarious! I'm disappointed to see your review and hopefully it's still good now that I'm an adult. Another movie, sort of like this, that wasn't quite as good but still held up for me was "Opportunity Knocks" with Dana Carvey. Check that one out if you like this.

I like it fine. It's cute and a LITTLE more serious than Brooks' other movies. But I find hobos amusing in general, so maybe I'm biased ;)

Nah, it's not so bad. Heck, this better than "Dracula - dead and loving it"!
