Does anyone feel bad for Carolyn?

It's tough out there in the workplace, so it must be particularly hard for a woman who has been doing all hard graft in preparation for a possible promotion to be gazumped by a girl who hasn't even started college yet.

Sue Ellen lied on her CV/resume and in reality didn't have any of Carolyn's experience for the job she was promoted into, so why the heck shouldn't Carolyn be a little p*ssed? I know I would be too if I was in her shoes.

I've seen it happen before (to be fair I've been in both Sue Ellen and Carolyn's side of the equation) and whoever is the one that benefits it really isn't fair when someone younger and less qualified takes a job that should have been yours, especially if they lied to get their foot in the door (I've never lied on my resume and really resent people who have, but I have benefited from a promotion over someone who was in a job longer than me).

Actually, I do feel bad for Carolyn.

But Sue Ellen didn't mean to steal Carolyn's promotion. Sue Ellen was hoping to get Carolyn's old job as receptionist, not what would have been Carolyn's new job as Administrative Assistant.

I feel bad for Carolyn in a way, where she has to deal with having someone with less experience (but since she lied on her ap, no one knew. I think that most companies would've done a little reference checking and found out about her lying, and easily found out her lying about her age too, but that's another matter). But Carolyn also dealt with someone who was with the company much less time taking the executive assistant job that she thought had been promised to her for a while. That's quite understandable to be upset about. I sorta felt for her for that.

On the other hand however, Carolyn had a very unnecessarily b***hy attitude toward Sue Ellen right from the start when she didn't evrn know who she was and was just asking a simple question about applying for a job. And according to Vice president Rose, Carolyn was already known for her bad attitude and had an understandable reason for not wanting Carolyn as her assistant since she'd now be dealing with her attitude now right in her face three times more often. So when Sue Ellen walked in and (seemingly) had the same level of experience as Carolyn but had a much nicer more innocent attitude, I can't really blame Rose. And Carolyn really shouldn't have been bitter towards Sue Ellen, she was just taking a great offer, wouldn't you? She should've been more bitter towards Rose for making the decision. But like I said, I can hardly blame Rose.
