Surprised

I watch a lot of B-movies. I remember loving Evil Dead around this time. We had unsolved mysteries, quantum leap, the outer limits, tales from the crypt, etc. At this time as nd I totally missed this fun little gem.

It's on HBO Max if you want to see something weird, Noir, funny, hammy, and properly gory.

It's because it was made for TV by HBO and has been kept there. No home media releases so it never got a chance to be discovered on VHS, DVD or Blu-Ray.

Also HBO is an American channel, the rest of the world didn't get to check this out so it's fanbase was exclusively Americans who saw it on HBO at some point in time.

It's potential to attain a fanbase was severely restricted due to it being kept exclusive to HBO for all those years. Had it been released on VHS back in the early 90s it may have built up more of a cult following.

It's on digital V.O.D. these days (Amazon Prime).
