This film works better for TV.

I've been thinking about this film lately, as I used to watch it as a kid whenever I could when it was on TV. I took a look at the wikipedia page, and saw that it was originally released in theaters, but flopped. Even though I love this film, mainly for nostalgic reasons, I'm not surprised it did poorly at the box office. There are many elements about this film that make it enjoyable to watch in a non-theatre setting, and I personally don't think I would have enjoyed it in theaters either. Does anyone agree?
