Didn't this show have another title before Redd Foxx died? I think it was something that clearly identified him as the star.

Nope...always the Royal family👍 it was a pretty big deal back in the day. Redd foxx in something worth watching! Was pretty torn up at the news of his passing.

I thought it was something like Poppa's Family and they reformatted it after he died? This is going to nag at me.

Could it be that Royal was a play on the characters name? Al Royal...Royal Family?
