i don't think it matters if you're from canada or not i don't think it would appeal as much to "city folk" but anyone who lives in the country actually knows someone just like them for me i know at least five people who are like carbon copies of him especially my uncle

i'm not really a F?ck up i just play one in real life

Ya, you dont have to live in Canada for this show to appeal to you, but I would imagine Canadians (I am one) getting more of a kick out of it, sicne their are a lot of Canadians who act like them

I love this show, mainly because it remineds me of when i was little and Watching this with my Dad. It was a comedy that we both could enjoy, even though some of it went over my head. i am sill looking for the episode where red tries to grow beer nuts in cement for my dad. it was one of his favorites

It's very easy to hate this show. It takes time and patience to like it. My husband likes it so I gave it a shot and now we laugh together. It's just an acquired taste.

It's hard to enjoy it when unless you appreciate people being conscientiously stupid. I've never mistaken myself for a high-brow even when I schooled with them so naturally I love this show.

What's more amazing than the 15 year run of The Red Green Show is the 5 year fun of this thread! I loved TRGS and always will. When we first moved back to PA we rented a place out in the middle of nowhere where we didn't get cable so the only channels we could watch were the ones that we picked up with the good 'ole rabbit ears and PBS was one of them. I looked forward to the TRGS and was disappointed when the show ended. Long live the Possum Lodge!

At least you're not being a jerk about it, so I won't bite your head off.

I can't think of a single recent American comedy show that's ever made me laugh as hard as this show.

I love british comedy (even lived there for a couple of years, loved kids in the hall, sctv, been watching adult swim since the it came on the air, tim and eric, little britain, wild boys, and on and on ... still Red Green is one of my favorites... just funny, gently so and sometimes belly laughs...I always look forward to watching on Sunday afternoons, just makes the day a bit brighter.

What does British comedy have to do with this show?

I have been told that I have a warped sense of humor, maybe that is true because I love this show. It doesn't really matter where you are from you either get it or you don't. How it can be consistantly funny for so long is amazing. It is good clean fun and makes me laugh heartily.

This is one of the most underrated shows in the history of television. Its amazing.

Im glad its back.

I don't understand why anyone who doesn't like the show is even posting on this board. So you don't like it, why are you even here?

reply

I'm with you. I've probably wasted 3 hours of my life giving this show 10 minutes here or there to make me laugh. It never did. When I came here I was absolutely shocked at 1) how many episodes there were and 2) the 7.5 rating.

Its about Canadians poking fun at ourselves. Its a Canadian thing. Americans will never understand our humour, eh. lol.

The OP is not American. No self respecting American male is named rory. He is either British or a Dr. Who fan.

Count this American as a fan. I especially love the black and white segments with a nod to early slap stick humor.

I never liked Seinfeld, but I don't go around bashing it on its own board. I have better things to do than spread ill informed hate.

Red Green, great show, watched it as a kid, loved the zany duct tape segments and the slap stick physical comedy. Watching it now as a slightly more educated adult only makes it funnier with all the nuances of relationships, gender roles and characters among other deeper things.

I am surprised it lasted so long, but it really is one of those gems where you either get it and live by it or don't.

Glad it was created.
