Diane Ladd put on a clinic in overacting

No doubt it was way over the top. No doubt she was overdoing it. But major doubt that it wasn't absolutely 100% intentional and precisely what Lynch wanted her to do in the role. Like another poster mentioned, I laughed at virtually everything Ladd did in every one of her scenes. But I wasn't "laughing at her" per se. I felt like I "got it." Whatever "it" was, it went sailing right over your indignant head.
