Cause it happened to me, it was one of the earlier Disney films I own on VHS, and didn't know it was a sequal to an older movie. Which I did discover like 6 years after seeing this one. So as you can imagine I was like "Wait you're telling me there was a Rescuers movie made before Down Under?" and felt backwards when I did watch the original. So did anyone else felt the same way upon discovering the original?
shareI did! I didn't even know there was an "original" until it was released on VHS. The title can work as an original title or the title of a sequel. This was before they would release a movie on VHS to promote the sequel. Home video was still very new at the time. From what I read The Rescuers was re-released in theaters in 1988, but I don't remember that. I was only 4 at the time!

Of course there have been times I saw a sequel first, but this movie is the only one to date that I did not know was a sequel.
