Long story short, they're not the poor sports that humans are. Killing him wouldn't have brought the other Predator back, nor would it have been hunting. Which is what they do. He earned their respect, and you don't kill something you respect.

It's similar to the way the Predator in the first one didn't kill Dutch when it had the chance and instead threw off it's weapons/armor and challenged him to hand-to-hand combat. It's because their society, while violent, has a strong code of honor. And while they're hunters, what they really want is prey that will challenge them back. For the hunt to turn into a fair fight that they could possibly lose.

The Predators aren't hell-bent on killing anybody and everybody, they're not like the Xenomorphs in the Alien films or something like that. While they kind of look like monsters/animals to us, they are in fact a more advanced society. Their society just has different priorities, and they've grown into a sort of Spartan-like society. In spite of the fact that they're pretty violent and don't seem to share our morals (or maybe they do, we're not much nicer to animals we hunt), they're intelligent creatures. And their honor isn't just for them, it's to any creature who they deem a worthy adversary. And it's that honor that prevents them from teaming up on and murdering a worthy opponent just because their buddy couldn't seal the deal. Rather than being pissed at Glover, they were probably pissed at their friend for being weak, and impressed with Glover for his strength. And being the trophy hunting society they are, gave him a trophy for his impressive victory over a tough opponent.

The Predators are a race of Warriors/Hunters.....so they probably respected the fact that Glover was able to defeat one of them.

Predators have an honor system and it was a one on one, hand to hand combat, fair fight. Humans are also a weaker race and defeated one of their own. I would respect a bad a$$ like that.

it also adds depths to the predator mythos. more gravity.
