Anyone enjoyed this?

I did. I thought it was an enjoyable horror tinged scit-fi action and he perfect companion film to Bud Cardo's Mutant, which shares a similar theme. According to Nightmare at Noon's movie connections, it's a loose remake of Mutant and you can really see why.

Take the movies for what they are, and they're both really enjoyable little zombie type films.

Hell yeah, I have the poster in my living room.

But lets be honest here: this movie ain't about zombies, it's about explosions and gunfire! There's barely any zombie action at all (although I will admit the zombie hick who attacks Wings and crew in the restaurant is pretty sweet).

I still haven't figured out why Niko Matorakis inserted that random helicopter chase scene after Wings and Bo had already taken care of the Albino and his evil plot...

Yeah, though, an entertaining movie to someone like me.... but probably not to the other 98% of society.

reply

Yeah. Why the hell were those helicopters in it at the end? I suppose if you can do it though, why not have it in?

And explosiong and gunfire do rule the day haha.

My theory is the helicopter scene is leftover footage, maybe even from a completely different film. Apparently, Mastorakis almost scrapped early footage and re-cast the movie several times due to Wings and others' coke-fueled rampages of destruction off-set. I read that in an interview at some point.

So maybe Mastorakis just thought, "F it, I'll just slap this helicopter chase in and call it good." and counted himself lucky to have made it through the filming at all.

It is quite odd, and it looks like the most expensive part of the film. It didn't look like stock footage to me though, as I'm usually very good at spotting that kind of thing - it's always very noticeable in cheap Jim Wynorski/Fred Olen Ray films or anything by Phoenician entertainment. I just viewed it again there and couldn't see any differences in quality between the two so it doesn't look like it's from a completely different film to me. Although maybe it was leftover footage from a film which ceased production, also filmed in Utah.

That's crazy, she died recently on December 19th, and the cause has not been disclosed...

Looks like acting led her to her true passion- photography. Check out www.kimberlyrossphotography.com.

I watched this last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Of course, anything with George Kennedy in it is fine by me. It's always fun to watch other people go mad - makes me feel quite at home! Great sound, and interesting to see the film is 16:9 format, although there is no mention of this on either the packaging or this topic.

Bought the VHS earlier this year. Good flick and the climax in the Moab desert was pretty awesome. Brion James owns as the Albino.

Cool.

To answer the op’s question: I loved it!

What I would love to know is if this was supposed to be a comedy? The editing seems so jumpy almost as though some scenes aren’t quite finished and out of place. So many bat shit crazy things happen and ridiculous things are said, that I said WTF out loud at least 5 times during its run time. “Bo” whatever his name seemed just like a Jerry Reed clone, Brion James was a mute Albino with a beer gut decked out in Col. Sanders gear, George Kennedy delivered all his lines flat until he went into full blown rage mode while Wings Hauser gave the best performance of his life. The scene with the homeless looking bearded guy wrecking havoc on the town has to be seen to be believed! Then in the end the crusty Jerry Reed look alike hooked up with a super good looking twenty-ish year old brunette like it was still 1970 or something.

I’m just here to say that this movie was absolutely crazy and I’m about to watch it again. Something literally blew up in a huge explosion every ten minutes. I mean, look at the poster for it right here on MC. It’s got to be good!! 😀
