On new years eve the movie portrays the mobs running riot and breaking in and trashing casinos and revolting. Untrue. The streets were supposedly quiet that night. New years Day was just the day that Batista fled the country. Castro came into Havana much later. Also, the movie portrays Batista to be a rich White puppet of the U.S. when in fact he was 1) Black and 2) a homegrown Cuban politician. He was in no way intalled by the U.S.

As for quiet streets of 1959 New Years Eve: Why do you think that everythig in smallest details should be accurate? This is not a documentary, the author has the right to express himself by introducing some small inaccuracies.

As far as the riots goes in this film and GODFATHER II they show them taking place at night. "CUBA" has it during the day.

he was heavily supported by the US government which is why people call him a puppet. cuba was a brothel before castro took over. this is why he had the support of the people.
