Opening shootout: Where did Durant get the gun?

Something that's bothered me ever since I first saw this movie in 1990. And keep in mind, I was 10 and not normally as observant about such things, so this one must has really stuck out.

Namely, during the opening warehouse shootout between Durant and Eddie's men, where does Durant get his handgun from? He and his men had just been frisked by Eddie's men and most of their weapons removed. The Uzi hidden in Skip's false leg makes sense, but Durant just seems to pull his handgun out of his sleeve, literally. Surely the Eddie's men would have checked Durant's arms as well...

The only reasonable explanation is that he got it from one of dozens of goons that were shot and killed.

They disarm them putting a bunch of guns in the floor, granted outside but we dont know if some were on the floor inside. Two, obviously one of the dead guys, three he couldve gotten it from the same wooden leg had it had multiple guns in it.

One thing that really is kinda strange is that at the end of the gun fight they were only like 4 of Durant's men standing and Black had an entire mob. Those mob were also loaded with machine guns and weapons. Even if the wooden leg gun had gotten lucky I dont think he would've taken out the entire squad.
