Has anybody ever had a schoolteacher who was alot like Miss Kettelwell?

reply

I had a teacher in my first year of Primary School named Mrs Parker and I heard from the Mum of another kid in my class that 2 years before that his older brother had her for a teacher and Mrs Parker asked him to take his jumper off because it was a hot day and he didn't want to so she made him undress down to his underwear and sit in the corner for the rest of the day like that.

reply

You gotta be kidding me about this one teacher making your friends' brother undressing down to his underwear and to sit in the corner for the rest of the day just like that, just what exactly was that teacher thinking? She should be banned from teaching cause if a teacher made my child undress down to his underwear as a punishment I would give that teacher something to cry about

that depends on location really. in japan, for example, teachers are legaly allowed to hit students.

Yes, two of them.
The one in 4th grade wasn't so bad, atleast she had a sense of humor.
The one in 7th was a woman I'll never forget! She was a sweet woman for the first the months of school then one day she went super b*tch and stayed that way for the rest of the year. Not only that but she was a racist and tried to force her ways of thinking onto us, she didn't care about anyone but herself and was VERY impationt with the "special" student. She must've made that poor girl cry 3 times every week over nothing.

I had a substitute teacher in 1st grade that was mean. She would write the words "Fun Activities" on the board, and every time someone misbehaved, she would erase each letter. She would say "Minus the S, minus the E" and so on. What made her mean was she would do this for the slightest infraction.

When it comes to Miss Kettlewell got what was coming to her. She was a cold, mean, old-fashioned fuddy-duddy.

I've had a few teachers as bad as Miss Kettelwell. One was my first grade teacher, who was very impatient with her students and would chastise anyone who committed the most minor of infractions. I remember when one kid had an "accident" and he went up to her desk, she just berated him in front of everyone and said "I could smack you I'm so angry." My second grade teacher would hit us with a yard stick she kept in the class room. One time she was walking around checking to see if everyone had completed the homework from the previous night. As she walked by to check mine, she stopped and asked me what happened that I didn't finish my work? I looked at her with a confused look and pointed out that I had in fact finished all my work. She then pointed to the right side of my notebook and I had completely missed that entire page. She got so angry that she slapped me across the back with the yard stick and restricted me from going outside during recess. My third grade teacher would make all her students tuck in their shirts (we wore uniforms). After lunch, whenever anyone would come back to class with their shirt untucked, she would make them drop their pants and she would tuck their shirts in in front of the entire class.

My mom had a 2nd grade nun (she went to Catholic school), who would hit the students with a ruler on the knuckles (the wooden kind with the metal piece) every day to make sure they didn't misbehave. Basically, everybody got hit every day even if they were good. Keep in mind these kids were 7 and 8 years old. If you cried, she hit you again! What gets me is that none of the parents complained about this! Back then, if you got hit by a teacher and told your parents, you would get hit again because "you deserved it." Nowadays, parents would press charges and the teacher would do jail time. I'm glad that teachers weren't allowed to hit students when I was in school.

I hope this teacher would have gotten fired! Today she would be in the news for that!

Watching this part of the movie was funny because I had a first grade teacher just like that, who made us stay after class putting our heads down on the desk after class for punishment. She also claimed she was only 29 to her first grade students, even though she clearly looked over 50. Weird *beep* teacher.

She only referred to a student with Asperger's Syndrome as 'Aspergers'

I'm surprised no one slapped the *beep* out of her for saying that! Talk about degrading and being completely insensitive. But geez, I can understand why no one helped her.

To be honest, I didn't think Kettlewell was that bad. I can understand her frustrations having to deal with school children on a daily basis but at the same time I thought it was unfair she didn't give Andy a chance to explain himself.

I had a fifth grade teacher who scared the crap out of her students. She wasn't all too bad but sometimes she had a temper and I think she also had bipolar disorder. I remember when she tried to explain a math problem to me in front of the class, I can honestly tell you I was paralyzed with fear. All I could think was "Try not to piss her off please!" and she happened to be in a better mood than her usual days.

I get it up, I get it up in the dark, I make her feel I'm not a holy man

The only way Mrs. Kettlewell could've gotten any meaner was if she told Andy that Santa wasn't real

One day when I was in 1st grade, my teacher (Mrs. Fuller was her name, I think) wouldn't allow me to go out for recess because I had an unfinished assignment. Which was fair enough, I suppose. What WASN'T fair was that even after I completed the assignment (in a satisfactory manner, mind you) and turned it in, she STILL wouldn't let me go out to recess! WTF! Being 7 back then, I remember wanting to cry, but didn't.

What a bitch.

I've had tons of them--primarily special ed math, but for some reason my TX school district thought it was fun to give us a morbidly obese woman as a PE teacher in jr high! So I think that she needed some reform.
