Such a slow worthy film

The first time I tried to watch this I failed - it just takes too long making sure we know who everyone is. Plus the dialogue is so clunky I can only assume a lot of it is based on recorded conversations.
But somewhere around the midpoint/two-thirds mark it picks up, especially when we start to get Peter Boyle's engineer trying to voice his concerns.
It's interesting it doesn't really seem to blame anyone. The reasons for not accepting the engineer's recommendations are not invalid - even though the final decision was probably shaped more by fear of reputational damage by both parties.
I think I liked the end as well. Fading out to the great plumes of exhaust rather that what happened a few moments later and then focusing on the watchers reactions was a better way to close.
Still not a good movie though.
