I hate George!!!

So, watching this show for the first time. Really enjoying it. Most of the cast is great, and even the fact that Seinfeld himself, isn't a great actor, does not interfere with my enjoyment. The only blight, is George. I really really can't believe that anyone would put up with him. I don't find him funny. He does, however, turn my stomach. Everytime he is putting his foot in it, I just cringe. I can't believe that the rest of the other characters would put up with him. He's cost people releationships, money,and even a chance at better careers. Hate hate hate his character. Is this a common thing? Is George popular within the Seinfeld fans, or, am I alone in my hatred for this character?

The actor who played George was the only person in the series (main cast of course) to not win an award from the academy for a solo performance.

Actaully, I think his performance is fine. It's just the character I don't like

George is considered one of the greatest sitcom characters but was the only main cast member to not receive an award from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (Emmy)

Well......I just mention politely, why I don't like George, and I back up my own feelings toward the character, and someone comes in with a sarcastic comment, that proves nothing at all. Just hate it when people can't stand criticism of even the smallest nature. It's not as if I was trying to state my opinion as fact. The internet is like money and power. It enables people to act like jerks, with no consequence to themselves . Ah well.....

Ok. This thread went from me being a tad exasperated that instead of someone giving a reason as to why they liked George, they just pointed to awards , to now, feeling like im walking into a surreal landscape of nerdism and friendly sarcasm. I like it!

I get that, but, Ive love idiots in other sitcoms. I think it's the fact that he makes me cringe with his sefishness, and I just don't think that others would put up with him. I mean, in some way, Kramer's an idiot, but he's brilliant
