So many of the characters seem to have been recast between series, but who are your favourites?
Aunt Dahlia: S1 is my favourite, but S2 is more like the books.
Aunt Agatha: Definitely the original.
Madeline: The third version. The second just wasn't very Madeliney.
Gussie: The second.
Florence: Both/either.
I can't remember all the specifics, but I generally preferred the earlier versions, especially of Stiffy Byng. The Madeline and Gussie of S3 went too far over the top, and the first generation of Aunts were the best. However, I thought the second version of Bingo Little was quite good -- he wasn't quite as wet and romantic, but he was a good Bolshy rabble-rouser.

I definitely prefer Season One for Barmy. Martin Clunes plays the prig to perfection, but Barmy was a role most unsuited to him.
