List of every song played in Shag, scene by scene. (Both versions)

First off, I'm a die hard Shag fan and put a lot of effort into a little soundtrack project I'd like to share here.

Years ago I had posted this list in the message board, but I can't seem to find it now. As I needed to reference my list again recently, I figured I'd share it on the message board again for anyone who loves the movie and its music. Most fans know Shag has two versions, so I picked apart each and plucked the songs scene by scene.

(Starred songs indicate that it's the same song in both versions!)

Thanks for doing this- it is helpful. Just to clarify for people reading this since I've seen some differing accounts on here- the "Old" version is the original they showed on HBO and what is now on the 2001 release of the dvd. The "New" version is the one that can be found on the 1997 VHS release.

She was just the waitress at the place where they were eating hamburgers. They had gone to one of those places where the girls come out on roller skates to bring you your food. Kind of like Sonic nowadays...
Glancing at the list from the previous entry the song being played was either Ready To Go Steady (if you saw the original version) or He's So Fine (if you were watching the altered version.)

Are you trying to find out the song played in that scene or did you just want to know who the girl was blowing the bubble?

I'm not sure which song contains those lyrics. If you scroll up to the top message where someone listed every song played at each part of the movie you can see what was playing depending on which version of the movie you saw. It says drive-in restaurant or something then jukebox song. That is the point in the movie where the blonde on skates blows a bubble. The song playing is called Monkey Time but I didn't hear those lyrics. The song that plays before that is He's So Fine by the Chiffons or Ready To Go Steady (depending on which version you saw.) If you have access to an app called Shazam it will identify songs for you.

The song I was more into knowing with "I kiss my baby" in it. I love seeing young women blowing bubble gum. Taylor Swift is a person I want to see blowing bubble gum.

I never saw the movie but watched the scene with a pretty blonde blowing bubble gum on roller skates with dancing. I don't know the name of that song. Who was it blowing the bubble in that scene?

The lyrics in that song are "doot, doot, doot, everyday I kiss my baby".

Here's that scene on youtube...

Whoever posted that clip from Shag on Youtube managed to put that song with it. That song was not in Shag. I don't know the song but it sounds like one of those girl groups from the 60's like the Crystals or the Ronettes etc. The girl in the clip is some random actress who played the waitress in the movie. It is not Bridget Fonda.
