Cheryl Pollak (the tomboy character)

I heard she almost had the Megan Morgan role in Critters 2, but lost it for a stupid reason. My theory is that Scott Grimes had something to do with her casting in this. I wonder if her having the same name as his bff in the Critters movies was Grimes' idea as well?
