They were afraid of squirrel?

Seriously, what the hell??

reply

Everyone who's seen the Chip and Dale Christmas shorts know that squirrels are not to be trifled with at Christmas.

reply

Chip and Dale are chipmunks.

reply

Which are technically a type of squirrel.

I mean, really, how many times will you look under Jabba's manboobs?

reply

Yeah it's a very odd scene.

reply

Its a comedy! Its a Satire. If you don't get it then your young or just stupid!

Ever saw a flying cockroach get loose?? CALAMITY IN THE HOUSEHOLD!!! It's just a foreign object in the house. They didn't know what the squirrel would do. Squirrels are quick and feisty. You don't want one to jump at you...But it's a movie. They coudn't very well kill a squirrel. Alvin, Simon, Theodore, Chip and Dale were taking the world by cartoon storm at that time...lol they were chipmunks though. Still the same point.

Its just funny that they were all terrified of this cute little animal.

I'm more concerned with them not having a saw to chop down the tree in the beginning of the film but magically finding spades to dig it out.

Actually, I thought that they did that since the scene ends with something like, "Dad, did you remember a saw?" and just seeing it on the top of the car with the tree uprooted. But perhaps they could have even pulled the tree out tugging it with their car and rope.

reply

I thought they pulled it out with the car too.

up until 2005, rabies shots were a series of 12 painful shots to the abdomen. Any animal acting oddly strikes a fear of rabies.

Had a smaller red squirrel running around the house years ago... it's not a fear thing so much as a wtf is it doing & where is it doing it thing.

We could hear it behind walls & furniture until a day we found & chased it away. I sprayed it with a hose for it to leave the property, thankfully it got away I was afraid I was about to drown it.

reply

You're absolutely right. Being afraid of a squirrel in a comedy movie was absurd.

They should have made it a tiger instead. That would have made more sense.
