Talisa Soto vs. Carey Lowell

This is my favorite Bond film of them all....but why on earth would 007 choose CL....over the lovely Lupe Lamora????

Talisa Soto is the most beautiful Bond girl of all time...and would have been a worthy girlfriend/wife....for JB!

What was he thinking????

reply

This is my favorite Bond as well and I fully agree. Lupe would have been my choice as well.

reply

Have to disagree. Not only is Carey Lowell beautiful but she's also a perfect match for Bond. She's tough, clever, classy and charming all at the same time. Her chemistry with Dalton is another one of the reasons why this film is one of my favourites.

whenever carey lowell came on the screen i was hooked. was outright envious of bond the whole time he was with her too lol

talisa soto is hot in her own exotic way but i'm just more into the likes of pam bouvier

reply

Clever????

She says she has lots of expereince in Latina America....yet stupidly suggest that 007 be HER executive assistant in Isthmus...!

Clueless bird brain if you ask me...

reply

Carey Lowell has better legs, but Taliso Soto wins hands down on everything else.

Funny watching it again after many years. When I was younger Taliso Soto was my favourite and I didn't like Carey Lowell's 'boy haircut'.

But I think I like them the other way now. Soto is the beautiful but bland eye candy whereas Lowell is the beautiful Bond girl with substance and personality etc, which I appreciate now...god I've grown old :-(

Lupe is the prettier girl but at the end of the day, she would have been just as happy - if not happier - with El Presidente as she would have been with Bond.

LOL so true so true

Talisa Soto was my first crush when I was a kid. Back in the days when you'd never admit you found a girl attractive - I was but 9!!
She still wows me when I watch this now!

reply

Neither one are high on my list, Maryam D'Abo was miles ahead of both of them in the looks and personality department, she easily the best Dalton Bond girl.

But out of the two Talisa was the hottest. She was very beautiful for her type, and has aged very well, she looks hotter now than she did in 89! Carey looks awful now, she's not really trying to be sexy , she's married and all that. I have to admit though she looks best with long hair, but she always has had the short cut.

I do think James made the right choice with Pam/Carey, she was the perfect match for him. Tracy was a good match too but she was an average woman, Pam was a killer and badass like Bond, she could handle herself just fine. Lupe was hot and all that but she was not Bond's type and was too young for this version of Bond. He would have dumped her like the rest

Carey Lowell stands out as the only Bond girl in the series that actually contributes to Bond's mission. Unlike every other Bond movie, Bond never has to alter his mission to rescue this Bond girl. In fact, she saves his life!

When promoting Tomorrow Never Dies, Pierce Brosnan went on in interviews about how Michelle Yeoh was finally breaking the mold of the helpless Bond girl. But, in the actual movie, the same thing happened. She got captured, and Bond had to alter his plan to save her! Lowell had already broken the mold eight years prior!

Soto was just like every other girl in the series. Perhaps this is why Pam stood out to Bond....

As far as looks go, I really didn't like Pam with the short haircut. Soto slightly has the upper hand after Pam cut her hair. But, hair can grow back, and Pam was definitely a more worthwhile character. Pam wins.

I'd have picked Soto. But that's just me.

I love to love my Lisa.

I don't know why everyone seems to hate Carey's short hair. On my first viewing of 'Licence to Kill' I thought she didn't look that special with her long 80s style hair. Then she get the haircut and she comes back as a sexy, sophisticated woman. And she looked so fine when she's on the drug ship in her swimsuit: http://referentiel.nouvelobs.com/file/3397537.jpg

I agree. She was attractive with the longer hair (I mean, come on, Carey Lowell is going to be gorgeous no matter what her hair looks like). But when I first caught a glimpse of her with the shorter hair, oofta, I was hooked. The funny thing is that generally I do not like women with short hair. I look at the haircut Kaley Cuoco has right now on The Big Bang Theory, and she looks awful to me. But Carey Lowell looked simply scrumptious. . Talisa Soto was gorgeous, too, don't get me wrong. There is no wrong choice here. It

I know she wasn't technically a Bond girl, but let's not forget Priscilla Barnes. Anybody that grew up watching Three's Company had a chance to see her every week after Suzanne Somers. Seeing Priscilla Barnes was a treat. She still looked absolutely smoking hot, too. Why couldn't they have worked in a hot tub scene with Carey, Priscilla and Talisa. Sigh.

In Goldeneye, Natalya saved Bond's life a couple of times.

Talisa Soto all the way. Carey Lowell is just too....masculine....for my taste. As they say, taste is a matter of taste....

Please nest your IMDB page, and respond to the correct person -

Lowell has a hell of a body but the short hair...ugh. If she just grew her hair out. That alone would make me choose soto. However, I do agree that "lupe" is just infatuated with bond...not really in love where "Pam" is more of a real match for him

reply

I would not kick neither one of them out of bed and would be lucky if either one of them gave me a look while they were sober.

But I actually liked Pam better. Lupe was hot but she was girlie girlie and Pam was both hot and could stand her ground. Plus I loved the part when she arranges her skirt to grab her gun, showing off her legs. I like her with both hairstyles. She had a killer body.

reply

Cary Lowell ALL the way!!!! She was a equal match for Bond who took care of business. Soto's character was a twitt.
