So.... who saw it in the Cinema ?!

It is one of my earliest memories of going to the movies , I absolutely loved that film when I was little. I remember watching the commercial for it on TV and the disney channel making off featurette (At the time the SFX were a very big deal) and overall being very excited to get to see it on the big screen. Anyone else ?

They played it in Orlando, Florida for 1 week at a cinema here (in 2015), and I finally had the chance to see it on the big screen. It was a whole new experience! Really impressive, on the big screen!

I saw it but I was too young to remember it properly. I think I remember the cheerios bit but that's it.

Watching it now, it's good movie, if just for the sfx. I mean, the sets look fantastic, and so realistic. Today that would all be CGI and it would look fake as hell. I was really impressed with the visuals in this.

It came in the UK in 1990. It was widely anticipated release. I saw it in the cinema. I remember the Roger Rabbit short beforehand(Tummy Trouble) - that had been mentioned in some of the press for this.

I do remember watching it, and afterwards I thought it was okay, but not great. I was a little underwhelmed. I must re-watch it again - I have only seen it once.

The summer of 1989 was a big theater-going season for me. First, I saw Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (which is certainly no masterpiece, but it's underrated, imo). Then, I saw this, along with the Roger Rabbit short. It kicked ass.

Yeah, i am pretty sure i saw this in the theaters but at that time i would have been 9 going on 10 years old later that year.

i think it's the earliest movie i can somewhat remember seeing in the theaters. ill be 37 years old in October.

in fact, i just re-watched this movie for the first time in a long time just now (July 18th 2016) and i still like it, but only mildly. movies like this typically work best when your a kid as it's funny how you view things as a kid vs when your older as everything seems more big/cool when your a kid but when you get a bit older you tend to see things differently. plus, back in the day you have not seen nearly as many movies in general so it's easier to be impressed by them where as now i have seen about 2,000 movies.

p.s. but prior to this viewing i have not seen this movie in at least 15 years or longer, i would imagine. nice little nostalgia thing.
