I know its never going to win any awards or come top of the 'best film ever' list but its really cute and comforting and easy to watch. Is this anybody elses guilty pleasure?

You are right... I love this movie, it is one of my all time favorites, it has a sense an ordinary plot that would happen on an everyday basis (something that has been lost in movies and that was so typical from 80's movies) Great delivery by Selleck and the cast, and of course this movie has some of the funniest moments that would make you laugh out loud!!!!(shot by arrow scene, dressed as clowns, food poisoning (Nina's casserole), throwing up scene, etc. I just bought the DVD and in the scenes section the shot by arrow scene is reffered to as "target practice"... so funny! Who cares if it is underrated, there's a lot of us out there who really like it!!!!!!

OK, Confirmation on film location... I just watched the movie "Shooter" with Mark Wahlberg and I immediately recognized the property and house that Phil Blackwood "Tom Seleck" lived in. If you watch the film you will notice it is the same house but just a little bit weathered. I looked up the film location on IMDB and it confirms that Shooter was in Baltimore, Maryland, USA the same house as Her Alibi was filmed. I am moving to Batimore.

Ha! When I read the topic line the first thing that went through my mind was 'this film is a guilty pleasure of mine." Then I open it up. Nice to see someone else feels exactly the same way. Yeah, this is one of those films I could never recommend to someone because they will probably not like due to its flaws. I like it despite them.

While the film had its moments, overall it failed for me. Maybe if they had come up with a better ending...

One of my favorite comedies of all time. Surprised it's rated so low on IMDB
