Old man Charles McCullough steals the spotlight!

Dude is freaking HILARIOUS with his delivery.

"Are you girls (slow pause) using drugs?"

Or the way he reacts to the blonde girl "pass" her final exam. (In a flustered tone)" Now, I am your teacher young lady"!

He had me laughing everytime he was on. I loved his character. So unintentionally funny the way he is such an old dick!

Another great Uncle Charles moment is right after Seans dad dies and Charles feels the need to say "Sean, I'm......." HE IS SUCH A DICK HE CANT EVEN MUTTER THE WORD "SORRY". HAHAHA!

I laughed harder when Jason dumped his a## in that barrel full of dead rats, old water and s#it!!

reply

Yeah even his screaming and gurgling was funny!

reply

He was trying to talk to Jason "No please, I'll pay you" LOL

Honestly im not sure his exact words because it has been years since i seen this movie but I thought he said I'll pay you lol

reply

I just finished watching the movie and it definitely sounds like he said "I'll pay you."

I used to think it was "I'll pay you", but now I'm pretty sure it's "I'm begging you". But the former is so much funnier, I like to pretend it's that.

I also think it's hilarious how he tells his teenage niece that he raised not to try to face her fears because it "doesn't always conquer them."

Hahaha what a motivator!

Richman played an awesome dick in this movies. Oddly, though he has played lots of dicks in his career, I think of him as Abin Sur and the Phantom.

To be fair, he's totally right.

Yeah, he was pretty hilarious at times. I especially loved his scene with Tamara. "No Stop! I mean... really...."  Probably my fourth favorite character of the movie.

Charles McCullough was an abusive SOB. He's the reason why Rennie was hydrophobic..

reply

I absolutely love this part.

Wayne: Maybe some of us don't want our futures predicted.
Charles: Haha....well in your case I'm sure that's true.

lol...classic!

reply

He was such an unlikable, pompous jerk. The actor did a great job at making him easy to hate.

reply

"And as for you, you can forget attending any film school, EVER!!!!!!!!"

reply

I have to admit he's my favorite character in the movie. He literally steals every scene he's in. I like how throughout the whole movie whenever someone insists Jason is the killer he verbally berates them for believing such nonsense. Its funny as hell when Rennie and Sean finally ditch him in NY. After Sean knocks him down and they leave him all alone,he sees Jason finally and says all self-righteous ,"You!" Of course he receives a much deserved horrible death. And the death is hilarious.

reply

Rewatching the movie I realized that even though everyone calls him a villain, he really isn't. A jerk, yes, but he's genuinely concerned about Rennie and never tries to betray the others.

reply

love it when jullius tells him: school's out "

I hated Jaws, it had too much shark, and dont get me started about King Kong, waaay too much gorilla

reply

McCullough is an awesome character, his death is deserved

the only reason i tuned into this was because i had to see what happened to this guy after the first movie and i take any of the rare opportunities when something not being a mainstream 21st century movie airs, but the sequels doesn't seem to end... you know there has been alot of sequels when this guy is now on a boat... i was so surprised to see a twilight zone (1959) actor... and i can't believe this movie has a "the making of" documentary. i was a bit surprised to see it was made in 1989, i thought it looked to be made later. i give this movie that the face revealed in the tunnel i think it was, was really shocking.
