He should have paid the damn money and got his passport. End of story. This could have been a great movie but then it takes a turn of stupidity.

I se you're right but the film and performances are strong! I'm surprise that so many miss this the first time around! Its really a powerful film!

There are no jobs for him in GB, has no money, he lives in a scuzzy neighbourhood, everybody stereotypes him, they took his passport after he risked his life for GB, whats so good about GB to stay under those circumstances...
If after writing allthat you still didnt get the point of the movie, I suggest you re-watch it from a black man's pov whose given much of his adult life to a country that could care less about him.
consider that law and all of the people who were affected by it, living in the UK all their lives and then suddenly having their CITIZENSHIP taken from them. Anger barely covers it.
Consider his best freind in a wheel chair, no hiring of those disabled from the military and no money, and how Prince Andrew was feted when he returned from the Falklands.
there are so many aspects explored here and its too bad it wasn't done better. However all you have to do is re-watch it and gain some perspective of those who were screwed by *their* country. You're depth was showing.

It's a poorly done film that tries to be too much. I thought I was going to watch something about a jaded Veteran who starts doing high end crime. I thought it would be an action type film.
Instead we just see this bloke get his arse handed to him, even having his medals stolen by a couple of kids. He has opportunities to improve his life but he just keeps getting caught up in shit.
