Glenn's fate (Spoilers)

So the tragic ending due to Glenn's abuse of steroids wasn't shown to us on screen but I'm curious if the way they portrayed his organ failure due to the abuse was realistic? Wouldn't his initial heart attack put him into a more perilous condition like a stroke or coma? Either way, the movie itself is a good life-lesson type of movie you don't see much of these days.
