Extra cheese is $2.00

I have been wondering, when Buggin Out tells Sal to "put some cheese on that..." and Sal says "extra cheese is $2.00," does that mean a slice with extra cheese is $2.00, or extra cheese is the slice plus $2.00? Thanks for your thoughts. Take care.

A slice was 1.50 so I'm guessing 2.00 would be the price of the slice with the extra cheese... but Sal says "2 dollars extra!" So maybe not. Huge rip off if extra cheese is 2 bucks on a 1.50 slice.

Definitely not 2 bucks extra.

It had to be fifty cents extra. Go to any pizza parlor. No slice is that ridiculously overpriced due to extra cheese.

I wish slices were still 1.50 today....

Common add-on in old school borough pizza parlors. The earlier poster had it right, $.50 extra making the slice price $2.00.

Sal obviously knew Buggin' was trying to be an a---e. So he quoted him an a----e's price.

How is cheese going to be more expensive than a slice of pizza? Think for *beep*'s sake. That's like asking if the fries are more expensive than the hamburguer

Hahaha. This has been bugging me for years. $2.00 for extra cheese would be somewhat ridiculous now for a slice of pizza. What to speak of the late 80s. I'm guessing probably meant $2.00 total but his dialogue definitely made it sound like it was $2.00 extra for the added cheese.
