What might have happened in Season 6.....

I've been thinking about that, and have a few ideas.

1) Werewolf-Jake thinks one of the guests is a werewolf.
2) Parents Week-staff parents visit the Bar None and hilarious antics occur.
3) Angie Returns-Angie (the wicked little kid) returns and wreaks havoc.

I know, I know, probably not as creative as the writers themselves could come up with, but it's fun to try. What about the rest of you? What do you think might have happened in season 6, had it ever been made?

I don't know about specific episodes, but on the relationship front, they would've played with the Kyle-Brad-Ted love triangle some more - though it's clear that Ted and Brad were meant to be. And for some reason, I always imagined Jake and Melody would have some sort of a romance. (I know it's Nickelodeon, but still).

Some ideas:

1) Another sibling with a secret that character doesnt know about: homosexual

2) A day in the life of a Bar None Guest: follow them around as they encounter each staff member: go on Melodies nature hikes, Brads trail rides, Dannys cactus lectures, Teds roping lessons, Jakes drum lessons, and Mr. E's quirkiness. They could sample some of Sams cooking!!(the chef for one episode)

3) We could have been introduced to the Vlecks actual ranch:perhaps someone is put in a situation where they need extra money and work there.

4) Danny could have some mischevious indian cousins show up.

5) The kids are left in charge again and turn the Bar none into a casino-slot machines in the lobby, horse races in the corral, poker in the bunks-and then when Mr E and Lucy return they could quickly turn everything back to normal.

6)Vacation episode: Brads rich parents invite the gang to a vacation destination.

7) Continue the series by having everyone attend college near the bar none.

Hi!
First of all, I want to say what a cool idea to start this thread..
I'm not sure what would have happened..but I like your ideas..especially the wolf one.. I mean, the ep Ghost Stories is my absolute favorite episode!
I would also like to see what would happen if they all went to college near the ranch, and the vacation idea is cool to..I can picture romance happening!
UST or unresolved sexual tention is awesome between Brad and Ted..it could so work!

Clearly there would have been an encore kiss between Brad & Ted, no doubt. Their first one was kinda a one-person kiss- Brad on Ted, with Ted not really returning it. The encore would have been a consensual one. They would not have played more with the love triangle with Brad-Ted-Kyle because the episode where Kyle and Ted are driving around, lost in the desert- That episode pretty much proved that Ted was the man. So I don't know how far it would have gone.

Either way, I know Hey Dude was five seasons and I'm not complaining, but its cancellation had to be one of the dumbest reasons to cancel a show ever. I can understand if it was ratings that cancelled the show or financial purposes but it was canceled because Nickelodeon built a studio and they wanted to produce material at the studio instead of an Arizona ranch! How gay is that?! What a way to end Nickelodeon's best TV show.

how about Brad and Danny going out and both Kyle and Ted get Jealous and Melody asks Kyle out those two seemed kind of Chummy at the end of the episode where Ted and Melody, Kyle and Brad have a disasterous double date. M

Maybe they could also have Buddy meet someone maybe this girl who is staying at the Bar none and Buddy hit it off but it pretty much ends when the girl leaves to go back home.

Jake realizes he likes Melody, and Ted is still jealous about Brad and Kyle decides to bite the bullet and tell her he likes her and wants to be with her. and Ted and Jake would team up to break up the couples and as a result temporarily alienate themselves from Kyle and Danny.

Maybe Mr. Ernst could have a love interest maybe with a postal worker who always delivers mail to the bar none or someone else.

We could also find out more about Lucy like maybe she has a son or something and had been married or had a baby which she had given up for adoption and tracked her down. or came from a wealthy background just like Brad but had a falling out with her family and decided to be independent and be a hard worker and even refused her family's money.

Maybe Ted could have a sister or brother that turned out to be gay and is clueless or in such denial about it.

or better yet Brad's parents could visit the Bar none and Ted and Kyle try to impress them well Ted sure does. Kyle ends up hitting it off with her parents. While Ted keeps on making a fool of himself like Ted says the wrong things or he accidentally spills something on Brad's dad. At the end he somehow makes it up to her parents and Brad finally decides between Ted and Kyle. She picks Ted.

Like Mona from Salute your Shorts? ;)

I have had this worked out for a while...

Ted and brad marry after a while (he gets hit by lightning and has a super brain now, and is a dr.) They end up having two sets of twins (both sets being boy-girl)

Kyle falls for Mel and they marry a couple of years after T&B. He becomes a vet and works at the ranch and in the area. Mel is the lifeguard at the ranch.

Mr E Falls for Lucy and they get married about 3 years or so after K&M

Not sure about the others.. if we knew her better I would probably pair Jake with thet (Steph-staff --??)girl.

I would have liked to see Kyle and Melody get together. They were my favorite characters and I don't think Kyle got enough screen time. Ted and Brad were meant for each other. The final episode would be the summer ending, and it's time to head home. It'd be cute, funny, and sad at the same time. The perfect way to close the a good "book" and give the show the proper ending it deserved.

Somebody should recast this and update the sets.

They could do a great job of it, like they did for Star Trek -- and make a new series.

People love this.

I wanted to see a crossover with Salute Your Shorts. Maybe another wargames episode since those were my favorites from each series. Ted and Budnik compete to be the baddest dude around

Ew, no way, Kyle was a male chauvinist and a dumb character whose only purpose was filler for when Ted was gone, as someone to spar with Brad. Ted was just as arrogant as Kyle, but he wasn't adorable like Ted. Kyle would be too overbearing for sweet Melody. I'd like a Jake and Mel date, Jake was funny and quirky, and Mel had a quirky side to her. Remember Jake's spa? I loved Jake. And he had the coolest light blue eyes, fantastic. I'd also like a Mel and Danny pairing, since they were consistently decent to each other and good friends make good couples. But really why does everyone have to pair off at the end?
One of the things I liked best about this show and other Nick shows (Salute your shorts) was that there wasn't an over-emphasis on love and sexual relationships like on so many TV shows these days.(Degrassi) There was some sexual tension and "love interests" but only on a schoolyard level or rather in a subtle , underplayed way, which made it more interesting to me.
I mainly love this show now for the nostalgia factor, but beyond that there are some things that just make it enjoyable. I miss shows that are lighthearted, and don't take themselves too seriously, but are also not idiotic with exaggerated voices and lame jokes that try too hard to be funny, over-done and fakey. Nick has lost the balance. HeyDude and SaluteyourShorts were also great because they lacked the dumb laugh track that ruins most shows for me. The humor is always funnier when we aren't "told" it's funny. I also liked the natural looking setting and natural looking lighting, SaluteYourShorts had the same, a good formula there. They were also both about kids from diverse backgrounds from all across the country meeting in one place. That made it very "american" without even trying. Most of the shows left out obvious political *beep* that invades almost all tv shows these days. HeyDude did get a little "preachy" at times but this wasn't the main focus. Mr Ernst was the main adult on the show, and kids love it when the main adult is portrayed as an idiot. (Ug-Lee from Salute your shorts, same formula)
Nick should really go back to the old formulas they used which made us still adore these shows decades later.

Kyle was a mistake. If they wanted a sixth teenager, they should've brought in a girl to round it out.
As for season 6...how about Ted, Melody, Danny and Jake form a band(Danny reveals his hidden talent as a bass player)? I could see Mr. Ernst going for it once Jake convinces him it would be a hit with the Young Buckaroos. Mr. Ernst decides to double-book a dance for the Buckaroos, and a separate event for all the parents who now have free time for the next three hours. If it succeeds, Mr. Ernst wants to make the dance a weekly gig.
Ted and Melody both end up getting egos over who gets to sing lead(and drive their respective bunk-mates crazy with their fantasies of stardom). We could have Mel also playing a keytar, so when they agree not to sing over each other, they instead try doing instrument solos over the other.
"TED!! We agreed not to pull any stunts while the other is singing!"
"Oh no, Mel! We agreed not to SING over each other. This just happens to be where I decided to do my guitar solo! Hey- stop that- what the heck do you think you're doing?!"
"Oh, well, I figured we needed a keyboard solo too!"
Goofy enough for Hey Dude, and totally something Ted would resort to. Then Jake and Danny would have to be the voices of reason so they can pull it together before the dance is canceled.

I thought of the band thing... but I remember ted singing before he left for summer school.... cringeworthy!!!

although I love this show but I am kind of glad it ended when it did. I can't stand having 40 year olds play teenagers/20 year olds. no. just, no.

OH THANK YOU GOD! THANK YOU SO BLOODY MUCH!!! Basil Fawlty

I dunno...one more season would've been fine with me, including a legitimate series finale where they all get ready to go back home. Mr. Ernst would likely stay behind in Arizona. Even if it was only a summer ranch, it would be more convenient for him to get an accounting job in Tuscon. He could just be a tax accountant(tax season would end just in time for him to start getting the Bar None ready for another season) during the off seasons.
