Plot continuity question

So I been watching episodes on TV in order and at the end of an episode, Caroline sees her fiance, Logan cheating on her with Neely. Caroline later approaches Logan and breaks it off with him. However in the following episodes, Caroline is just fine working alongside Neely. Why is that?

Yes, I know I should not be watching the reruns of this show. It screams white privilege and southern California is so poorly represented with its lack of racial diversity
