This is probably Lena's greatest film performance, and she wasn't even nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar.
Not only was her Sabina the film's best performance, but she managed to truly capture the character's essence.

It's a shame Lena's talents are rarely utilized these days, at least the Reader gave her something to work with (she was great as always).

Yes I also concur with your opinion. I think Lin is a wonderful actress and I enjoyed her in this movie. Just got finished watching another movie she was in with Johnny depp called 'the Nineth Gate" that roman Polanski directed. man is she sexy as hell or what :)

Lena was terrific in Chocolat with Juliette Binoche and Johhny Depp. This was a terrific film!

GREAT, tremendously talented actress is Lena. That she's gorgeous doesn't hurt either.
There was a thread on the main Actors/Actresses board, "Best Female Villain?", that seems to've disappeared. Myself and one other guy went for Lena in Romeo Is Bleeding. Sexy and scarily psychotic in that. Never disappoints.

Definitely under appreciated. But this film, more than anything else I've seen her in, had something else. I don't know if it was the part or the direction or just the special quality she brought to it but I think she (and her character) was probably the sexiest woman I have ever seen. Those who know me know that I don't post stuff like this. I hate those "hot girl = great actress" type of threads but this was truly exceptional. I don't think it was just her looks etc.. For me she was the best part of the movie and I couldn't take my eyes off her. She added something to that part I have never seen before or since.

I agree; I think this film is very sexy. For myself, it's the sexiest film I've ever viewed.
