How many times have you watched Cinema Paradiso?
I've probably watched it 7 or 8 times.
It's one of my two favourite films. In some ways it's not easy to watch it over and over again, it's almost too intense.

Maybe 5 or 6 times, I watched it with my parents, the movie isn't perfect, it would be better if it was shorter maybe cut out the part where Salvatore finds the girl's daughter but the ending is beautiful and the music it one of the best!
shareWell, that cut exists. It's called the international version. :)

I think i agree with what a previous poster said: this movie is so high on my list that I can only watch it so often. I hate to pass out "favorite movie of all time" awards as all movies are different and appeal to different emotions. I'd say this is as close to my favorite movie as any and I just watched it for the 3rd time. Twice has been the 2 hr theatrical release but the first time i saw the 171 min version and it is quite a different movie. Still not sure what i like better.
shareI saw this masterpiece around 8 times in my life.
The first time i saw it, it was on vhs.
It had a mighty impact on me, because i see myself as a young Toto.
I also was stunned by movies, and my hometown had 2 theaters.
The first moviehouse they broke down because of it`s more improvement on home-videos.
So, the income was poorly.
But, i always had my theater in the midtown, it was called Tivoli.
When i was a young boy, around 8, i always wanted to see movies....i was crazy `bout them.
Once, sometimes twice a week, i was there, and sometimes the ticketshredder let me in for free.
Now that was a wonderful time for me.
So, this movie has something with me, and my life.
I think i`ll see it again, right about ....now.
"Films are home movies of your past".
Well actually only once, but I new friend I have started talking about it the night before last. Then he played the soundtrack on his Navigator. Which makes me think that it is worth seeing for the music alone, which is captivating.
shareNot enough. I love, love, love this movie. Every time I hear the music (or even just the theme), I can't help but feel nostalgic. But the funny thing is, I don't feel nostalgic for my childhood, I feel nostalgic for the Cinema Paradiso.
shareOnce, for the first time, last month.
Freddy Krueger: Come here. Come here, my little piggy. I got some gingerbread for ya.
Lost count, I even visited the town square in Sicily where they shot the movie, there's a small museum dedicated to the movie there.
I watched the movie with my laptop, standing in the middle of the town square. The feeling is surreal, especially driving around listening to the soundtrack.
Fantastic. We're aiming to go to Palazzo Adriano in October whilst in Sicily for the first time. Can't wait.
shareCouldn`t agree more,it is an intense watch,i try and watch it every couple of years and I get swept away each time,a true masterpiece of Cinema.
