What's your type? John or Rick?

After watching Pretty In Pink (after many years) I decided to re-watch Jack's Back... a movie I had seen when I was around 8 or 9 but remembered James Spader was in it and that I had enjoyed it (thank someone graciously for uploading it on to Youtube finally!).

Totally superficial point but which character did you like the best? John or Rick? I think Spader did a good job differentiating between the two of them.

My vote goes for John. Would of liked to have seen more screen time with that character.

I know it's pedantic... but it had to be done ;)

I preferred Rick, mostly because I love "bad boys". I know he wasn't a real 'bad' boy, but compared to John, he was. :)

James Spader <3

Can I have both?

I really liked John's character, but Spader was damn sexy as Rick. I thought it was quite hot when Cynthia Gibb's character told him someone was peeping in her window and he went into hero mode like instantly. I am really attracted to those who have street smarts, and that was a total Rick thing, whereas John was book smart.

For me, mean faces are hot on good guys, and pretty faces are hot on bad guys. And James Spader is very pretty
The thing is though, Rick wasn't really a bad boy - he only had the attitude of one, but his morals & actual behavior were perfectly decent. He did emanate a feint "grumpy boy from the outskirts" aura, and had the scar and the troubled background, and wasn't afraid to buy a gun from a shady place, but otherwise he was a proper fellow working at a shoe store. And his brother's job and attitude weren't particularly meek and mild either, so the main differences between them was that one was dressed in black (and could fight better) while the other one was dressed in white.
I actually like my James Spader a touch meaner than that

Thank you, I was starting to think I was the only one who noticed that. Yeah, he was do-gooder for the community but he definitely wasn't about to kiss his boss's butt or take crap from him. Both of the Wesford boys had some bad boy and good boy in them. As for which I prefer, either is gorgeous, obviously, but I have to say Spader did look a little sexier as Rick.

I do not have attention deficit disor...Ooh, look at the bunny!

I usually find bad boys on tv attractive but I prefer John as well. Rick is too generic bad boy.
