Favorite Moment

My favorite part is when he's at the studio dressed up as the snake guy and then those guys drop the snakes in the back of his truck. Ernest says, "Yeah. I'll count em' later." And then he does that little squealing sound. hahahahahah

What are yours?

I like the bit early on when the tree falls off the lorry and Ernest reverses back along the freeway to collect it, causing havok with the other road-users. He then throws it in the back of the cab, smashing the window. Santa looks a little shaken (who wouldn't?!), and says in a rather resigned voice "I guess you really needed a tree!" :-)

reply

hehehehe....airbrakes

"No....but I got a friend who could maybe use it." :)

I love the whole beginning sequence where he drives lickety-split down a highway to get a man to the airport, but the man flies out the door.

Then he has to carry him back to the cab, with a much strained face.

Then he destroys two Japanese guys' luggage. Then helps the man out of the car and hits his head repeatedly. Rips the suitcase out of the trunk. Lastly, he loses the man in the conveyor belt and runs away from airport security and two Japanese men with briefcases.

To this day, that whole sequence makes me laugh for 10 solid minutes.

"Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree"

Don't know why but hillarious! gets me everytime.

I grew up thinking those were actually the words to "O Christmas Tree".

My favorite part is the snake guy, too.

"One minute you're a big strappin' healthy man...and the next......SNAP! DEAD MEAT!"

reply

I disagree...it's when she is dressed up as the governor's daughter in the prison.

Oh no! We broke Mom's favorite vase playing basketball in the house!

Mine is definitely the ending when it snows in Florida. Just a gorgeous scene.
But my favorite comedy moment is when Ernest is visiting Vern's house and winds up pulling the electrical cord out of the wall, rotfl!

The way he lets the snakes loose at the park then you see them all over her face.

My favourite part is how the agent thinks his name is Santos and then everyone who meets him in the film calls him that. Joe, The recpetionist, the Chief of Police.

reply

There are a lot of them.
I love Uncle Lloyd, the snake guy. "That's all these movie people want. Pison!" "Hehehe, air brakes." "Oh, Christmas Tree(repeatedly)." "I'm at one with the Yuletide, KnoWhutImean?" "Where's Martin? I need him to help me with my will." "They git all knotted up on ye. 'Specially on a day like today when it's real hot." "You can keep your Channel number 5." "This is a surprise inspection, chief." "Ho. Ho. Ho. Merry Christmas." "Fifth graders think they know everything." "I need oxygen."
There are more but I'll stop right here.

reply

Yeah, I had to laugh at the way he said the word "poison".

There are a lot of scenes that make me laugh, but I think the 2 airport guys steal the movie. "that's an M"....."V"......."M"......"V".... "We are supposed to hold them for Helper Elmes....you know, I think that's Aaaamish." LMAO I love the way the big guy rolls his eyes back and forth, and squeals whenever something freaky happens. Those guys rule!

"You know what I think they are? Latvian goats."

I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned: The part where he burns his hands on he griddle, and he says "I like lots of butter on my pancakes...Lots and lots of butter..." while rubbing country crock all over his hands. I was crying the first time I saw that.

"Utah...Get me two."
