**Ending scene spoiler question**

What is the timeline between the blob being frozen scene and the final scene (the tent revival)? And are the people at the tent revival supposed to be Arborville's town residents more down the road? (weeks, even years later?) I can imagine no one would ever be the same after an apocalyptic event like that happening(a man made life form nearly destroying the town and all)

No spoilers today!!

reply

I don't know but it takes a good shot at religion delivering a heavy blow to it.

So true, Anyone, after a life changing event, could become fundemental after a traumatic event, even if real life.

Hahaha nah man it's supposed to be in like Africa or something. They're implying the priest went off to do missionary work. The timeline I don't know for certain but it's probably only a few years removed from the incident.

Ummm no. The congregation is black, yes, but the woman that approaches the reverend is clearly American. The movie takes place in Louisiana, so I'm assuming this is the spring or summer after the events in the movie. Whether it's still Arborville (the town in the movie), or not, I don't know.

Believe or not, there are black folk outside of Africa!

Yeah because we all know here in America we hold our church sermons in tents in the middle of the summer and not inside of CHURCHES. By the way, the movie takes place in California not Louisiana.

But this idea of black folk outside of Africa you speak of, now that is unbelievable. I won't believe it until I see it. I hope you can understand sarcasm better than you understood the final scene of this movie.

reply

It was SET in COLORADO, not California, it was filmed in Louisiana.

reply

Actually you're right.

reply

Yeah, it was in Louisiana.

reply

Sorry, that's incorrect. It's set in California.

1) When the sheriff is talking to Flagg from his car, the side of the car clearly shows the police logo: Sheriff, Fayette County, State of California at 9:50. In reality, there's no Fayette County in California, but hey, it's a movie.

2) Right after the scene in the hospital, the coroner is taking the body out and the sheriff says "Alright, you get that to Sacramento tonight, and I want the autopsy pronto, not next week" at 27:50.

3) While most of the cars don't have front license plates (which is required in California), there is one with California front plates parked on the side of the road at 9:25.

I was wondering the same thing. The trivia section says it was set in Colorado, but all the signs point to it being California.

But they were also expecting snow and it doesn't snow in California (or does it? I don't really know so don't pounce on this).

It actually snows in lots of places in California, just not in the most well known places i.e. Los Angeles/Orange County/San Francisco. You only have to drive a couple of hours from LA to get to places like Big Bear and Wrightwood where it snows tons every winter. Every few years it will snow in the desert around Palm Springs/Yucca Valley. Those are the snowy places I'm familiar with, there are surely a lot more.

You've never heard of a tent revival?

reply

You REALLY should get out more. I understood the final scene perfectly.

reply

Its supposed to be an old souther tent revival and it looks to be summer so like 6 months later assuming the blob attacked in winter. The town was gearing up for fake snow.

reply

I'd say at least a year after the events. Remember the Reverends hair is much longer at the end and his burns have scarred over.

reply

Probably a few years indicated by how long the Reverend lets his hair grow.

I don't apologize. I'm sorry, but that's how I am. - Homer Simpson

reply

I was guessing more like 6 months. His hair isn't -that- much longer.

reply

It was a nice setup for a sequel that as far as I know never happened.
