Did anyone else like Norma?

Unlike other moms during the era she seemed sweet and cool. Not every episode that she was staring in turned out to be the best. I liked her pottery class and when she got a non at Kevin's school.

I liked her. One of my favorite stories where she was more featured was "Cocoa and Sympathy." She was so kind to Paul. It was also nice to see Kevin seeing her in a different light.

Loved Norma. She was the glue that held the family together. One of her best episodes was the one about the lost tax receipts.

Norma is one of the great TV mums of all time. She's loving and supporting, yet not a doormat or worse yet, a helicopter parent. what with her ambitions to break out of being a full-time homemaker, they do a great job of showing parents as people with dreams and ambitions beyond birthing and raising a child, much too rare a thing in TV shows, especially for its time.

And there was still so much love between her and Jack, though subtle. It made the series finale hit home even harder... Christ, I still don't a show's ever gotten me to tear up as hard from one simple line, without having to show anything.

...Goddamn it, I love this show to death. I needed some affirmation today. Thanks.

I'm glad she went back to school and got her college degree when her kids grew up.
