Ironic

At the end of the movie, when Ness is asked what he will do if they repeal prohibition, he says, "I think I'll have a drink." Ironically, Ness went on to become an alcoholic and died at 54 of a massive heart attack. He was also known for refusing bribes. Later on in life, he had money problems and died broke. Ironic.
