Wow pretty underated

Does anyone else think this movie is extremely underated or is it just me?

I didn't know this movie until I happened to catch it on a local TV station. It was rather good. I don't know if it's THAT underrated, it is certainly pretty unknown. There were some good moments but also a lot that just wasn't so funny to me, so I quite agree with a rating between 6 and 7 out of 10.

I think the rating is a tad low. When I saw it, I was rolling on the floor laughing at Momma's lines: "Go bury him in the yard before he stinks up the place!", "You'll never make it to first base!", "What a dream I was having! Louis Armstrong was trying to kill me!"

It was pure luck I caught it one night on TV, and I'm glad I did. But nobody I know seems to know about it.

I rememeber this movie playing on comedy central all the time back in the day, I thought it w as a well known comedy but seriously, 6.1? for shame imdb voters, for shame! defiantly a great dark comedy that deserves a higher rateing on here. but thankfully, imdb statistics don't count for much.

Realism, Remakes and Unnecessary Sequels are ruining movies!

Completely agree with OP. It's one of those rare 80's comedies that actually stands the test of time. It's hilariously quirky and original, even though it's an unoriginal idea. Hands down my favorite Billy Crystal movie, and DeVito for that matter(but my fave role of his is Always Sunny). Not only great performances but top notch one liners. Shocked it's only 6.1...I give it probably at least a 7.8

Current kick: Billy Crystal

Yes, it deserves a 7 or 8. I think most comedies, especially recent ones, but even a lot of older ones, are crappy, and yet this one was quite good. I especially thought his constant "criss cross" statement son the phone were quite funny.
