Wow pretty underated

I would have to agree that this film does not get much recognition. Throw Momma from the Train opened to theaters in 1987 to mixed reviews by critics, but it was very amazing that this film caught the Academy Awards eye. Usually, goof-ball comedies such as this are ignored by the Oscars, but it was Anne Ramsey's particular role and face that ultimatly got her the Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Although she may have been nominated, this film still gets little notice from viewers, and some people even completly forget that she even got an Oscar nomination for this film. Throw Momma from the Train was a good comedy, but it probably deserved more recognition even after all these years.

Well, I have nothing against Vince Vaughn, Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller and the Wilson brothers, but those movies are beginning to have a cookie-cutter feel to them. "Throw Mamma" is very well-written and original.

Don't knock Vince Vaughn, he's got the best sense of comic timing I've seen in years. He can take a completely flat, humorless line and make it funny because he times it perfectly.

He was in Big Fish.
Ignore the smoke.
