Near-confirmed. That idea has been tossed around a lot, and Star Tours 2.0 is supposedly in the works for the upcoming overhaul of the Anaheim, CA Disney parks ($1.2 billion budget for CA Adventure alone!!) in which many ares of the parks are being changed. And here it is, 2009 and it still hasn't happened.
Though, I heard they were doing test runs of some new concepts in the old Wonders of Life Pavilion at Epcot.

The last time I visited Disneyland was April 2007, and they had already broke ground for some new attractions at California Adventure.
You gotta wonder how the economy has affected their plans. Nobody saw this coming 2 years ago.

It's not the podrace that was rumored - thank goodness, because you still want the original characters involved. It's not a reboot, but essentially an update. That's cool with me, I think this ride needs it.
Being chased by Boba Fett and having it in 3D sounds awesome. The fact that Frank Oz recorded some dialogue means Yoda will be in it.......and that's awesome. I'll be looking forward to it.
Hopefully in another 2 years, this thing will be rolling.
now they have finn and sequel trilogy worlds.
