How was Neal able to sleep through Del's racket when they had to sleep in the motel?

Planes Trains And Automobiles is one of my favorite movies and when I see it I laugh like crazy because it's so funny. But one thing I could never figure out and still can't figure out to this day is how could Neal rest while Del was annoyingly making racket in the motel scene. I should've wished that Neal and Del could've gotten their own beds instead of having to share one bed and if they knew that Braidwood Inn had only one room with one bed Del should've asked his old best friend Gus the desk clerk to move Neal and him to another room so that Neal and Del would've had their own beds as a token of Del's friendship with Gus. If I had to be stuck in a motel I would not have a noisy annoying roommate like Del. But the real truth behind the reason why Neal and Del had their bickering arguement was because had Neal had not known that Del and him were gonna be sharing a room and a bed they should've never had their arguement because if Neal found out that he would be getting special treatment it would've hurt Del's feelings so Neal had to be extra nice to Del
