Does anyone know why...?

...Every main character in this film has a last name that begins with "C"? Cammerari, Cappomagi, Castorini? Even Loretta's married name from her first marriage is a C name (Clark). This seems too much of a pattern to be a coincidence.

Have a piece of cheese.

I've noticed that too! And even references like Cosmo's Moon and all that begin with "C" I don't know why that is, tho...

Also Cher goes into "Cinderella beauty salon"

and Nicholas Cage's real last name is Coppola

I'm a film student and I learned in my intro to screenwriting class that characters' names should be choosen carefully to reflect their personalities and reinforce the themes of the story.

Love that Moon thread too, esp Marlana Baby's take on it, as well as solisoleil's story, both 4+ yr old posts. : >) : > Clearly Lovely!

Brings up memories of driving back roads in the middle of winter, after a heavy snowfall, after the plow's been thru, the sky's as clear as it'll ever get, there's a full moon, turning off the headlights, and it's bright enough not to need them!

midsummer's full moon is nicer tho....kinder, warmer, can go outside barefoot~the ultimate luxury, imo.....no i haven't been smoking anything......

don't know about that but will research....

but did you notice how everyone was waiting for something?

Loretta was waiting for Johnny to get back from Italy.
Cosmo was waiting to die.
Grandfather was waiting for his dogs to howl (joke), and the right moment to
talk to h his son about the wedding of his only daughter.
Momma Casterini was waiting for her husband to come around, and to get the
right answer to her "silly" question.
Perry was waiting for the right woman
Ronny was waiting for the right woman.
Chrissy was waiting for Ronny
Johnny was waiting for his mother to die
Johnny's mother was waiting for him to get off the phone.
The Coppomaggi's were waiting for everyone to shut the hell up! (actually,
can't figure out what they were waiting for, unless you want to say, waiting
for the money (deposit) to resurface....)

Swing away, Merrill....Merrill, swing away...

moosefeathers, I'm glad you pointed that out. I never considered that.

/s/ Signature? Nah, I dont want to sign anything.

reply

"How long must I wait" is said by the grandfather and Johnny & Ronney's mother. Maybe someone else says it too but I can't recall.

reply

Maybe the only way to follow the moon theme of the movie isby naming the characters with a letter that resembles a half moon - even though cosmo's moon was a full one, I dunno.

The only one I can answer is that Cammereri's Bakery is a real business in that neighborhood.
