Petition for DVD release.

I think this movie definately deserves a DVD release.

The market may be small, but it could be sold from its own website at minimal cost or risk.

Point 2 - It needs its own website. And a sequel.

Agreed. Have you heard anything about a possible release?

I bought the DVD at www.medienversand.at for 23,99 EUR. The cover says it has German DD 5.1 and English DD 2.0. Unfortunatly, I didnt have time to watch it already, I think I will do so tomrorrow in the evening.

EDIT: I also heared that the DVD is limited to 3.000 copies, but there is no number or something else printed on the case, so I cant say if it's true.

The German 'Blood Diner' DVD released by Dragon looks fantastic. The 16x9 widescreen presentation is very clear, the colors are pristine and sharp, no print damage, and a clear English audio track. It has a nice animated menu and motion chapter selections. Sadly, there are no special features...but the movie looks so damned good on the DVD you won't even care.

The DVD comes in a slide-case digipak style package, and a nice booklet...although it's fully in German.

I wish anchor bay would pick this up and release it. Until then i just have to keep watching my vhs.

I bought mine off ebay, quick and easy. The version I have is the new, uncut and fully remastered German DVD. The picture quality is great and the film itself is in English and it was definitely worth the 9.99 most sellers charge you. I would love to see Anchor Bay or any DVD studio release an official U.S. special edition of the film complete with commentary and a making of featurette, but for right now, this will do just fine. Also, when the heck is Anchor Bay releasing Cemetary Man and Baby Blood? I looked for both and all I could find on ebay were the region 2 versions or bad bootlegs not in English.

No, it doesn't. It's nothing more than some stolid 80s Z-movie drek that ripped off Herschell Gordon Lewis' "Blood Feast".

I mean, hello! Ishtar, Sheetar? Blood Feast, Blood Buffet? (sing-song) RIP-OFF!

reply

it's an unofficial sequel to Blood Feast and BF was trashy too! :)

reply

I agree! It is on DVD in PAL Region 2 only. We need a North American release! Why does Europe get to have all the best DVDs?

reply

it happens from time to time that you have some luke in germany, with such cultclassics released, but hey, do you know how many movies are censored beyond belief or even banned here?!
but i agree, why doesn't anchorbay pick this one up, stuff it with a commentary by carl crew and jackie kong, add some interviews, outtakes, deleted scenes if they exist and what ever else they can find!
that would be something!:)

An official Region 1 DVD release of this delightfully tacky hoot is certainly long overdue.

"We're all part Shatner/And part James Dean/Part Warren Oates/And Steven McQueen"

reply

A DVD is long overdue. This is a 80's horror classic that needs to be seen by more people. A 2 Disc loaded with extras would be a dream come true.

I just paid for £7 for a copy on the epix label. Seems to be quite a few copies floating around at the moment, grab em while you can.
