If you are a die hard fan, there is a way to get this movie cheap. What I did was order it on my libraries website, they got it for me pretty quickly. Then I kept it and told them that I simply lost the dvd and paid a little fine, like 16 bucks.
This may or may not work for you, but considering how hard the film is to find, try it.
lol, unfortunately my library doesn't have it, been trying to see this film for awhile now.
shareThis movie is available on DVDclassics.com for about $20.00...These guys seem to be reputable and it will be new/slighly used in original box. Get it quick due to the surge in Rourke's carrer with "The Wrestler". Who knows when this will be re-released.

shareI just bought the official Greek release DVD from a guy on ebay. I watched it and the quality is great, at least compared to what I was expecting. It works on an American DVD player and has the original audio.
Who knows though, with Rourke's career rejuvenating with the Wrestler, maybe they'll finally release it here in the states.
I wonder, do they still have any books and films AT ALL left at your library...

Pretty good movie. IMDB seems to be right on the money with rating this one.
I got a Greek copy too (that is, with Greek subtitles that you can turn off).
Glad to hear they are re-releasing this film on DVD, if they are. EXCELLENT movie!!!

Man, that's worse than just stealing it off the shelf in a shop. Libraries are for the public good. Why didn't you just rip it and then return it? Not to mention that it's also widely available for download via torrent/newsgroups!
sharein case you guys don't know, blockbuster will sell any of their rental movies. my local blockbuster had this and I rented it. I went in later and told them I wanted to keep it and they sold it to me for about $21.
