Was Anyone Else Expecting More From This?

I have been wanting to see this film since 1997 and I just bought a copy last week. I watched it, after hearing what a great film it is for so many years, and thought maybe I was watching the wrong one. Where's the gore? Where's the tension? Where's the creativity? The idea was clever, but the filmmaker didn't follow through. I was quite let down, and I am one of the biggest slasher films there is. Did anyone else feel the same way?

Me too, I was hyped after viewing The Church (which is one of my favorite horror movies ever) & Cemetery Man, but this is just ordinary. It's just like a normal slasher with little to no giallo vibe at all.

My top 5 favorite directors: Kurosawa, Spielberg, Jeunet, Argento, and Gilliam.

Think my fella was expecting it to be more graphic than it is. It was good, but just that bit too disturbing for me.

Yes I was let down too, very poor acting, no character development, I was told how good this was by hipsters, but I believe they only like it because it's set in a theater, which I think is actually quite dull.
