The remake looks bad.

I got to watch the new version in advance on demand. It's not bad at all, but if you saw the original first you are going to notice the similarities and the differences. For example, in the new AIB, babysitter Jenny wears a modern version of the camel coat that Chris wore in the original. The villains in the new AIB were cast and written on a more comedic level than the original villains.

At some point I think I will be able to accept the new version on it's own terms. I don't hate it, but right now my memories of the original kind of get in the way.

1987 version: 8/10
2016 version: 4/10

The new one doesn't look good.

I watched like 10 minutes of the new movie and turned the channel lol...it looks bad and i havent heard any good reviews about it, so im assuming it was bad

Of course it looks bad, its a remake.

How is it that no one can make a decent remake to anything?

It actually wasn't that bad. Not nearly on the level of the original, but also not so terribly awful that you feel embarrassed for the cast.
