How about Courtney Love

Surprisingly, there is not topic here about Courtney Love in this movie. You know, she had a small part in Sid and Nancy movie playing Nancy's friend. But she herself wanted to play Nancy. I think she would have been perfect as Nancy. I have nothing against the actress who played Nancy but I kind of feel like Courtney would have been a better choice. Yes, she had no acting experience at the time but her own life story and even her looks bear such similarity to actual Nancy.
How do you feel?

You may be right. But, yeah her acting in this movie, even though it was only a small scene she wasn't "all that".

I absolutely agree. This is what I wrote in my review of the movie, that I wish she was Nancy

Nah, Webb was absolutely fantastic in the role. Back then Love probably didn't have the experience she has now.

Agreed. One need only watch her performance in Straight to Hell, which was produced a year later.

The director and cast commentary for Sid and Nancy reveals Chloe's intense dedication to the realism of the role, on par with that of Gary Oldman.

Well, she did played practicly the same role later in People vs. Larry Flynt.

Courtney wasn´t really an actress at that point and Nancy has a husky voice with a specific dialect. Courtney at that time had a very girly voice and couldn´t mimic accents.
