What bike(s) did you have?

My first "High end" bike was a Mongoose Californian ($214 back in 1984, much to my dad's dismay!) It was eventually stolen... I'm still bummed about it and if I ever find that maggot...

Where I grew up, GT seemed to be the most popular brand, but not with the "Hard core" riders. My next-door neighbor/best friend's older brother was a very successful local racer and he rode a Redline, though I don't remember the model. The freestyler's seemed to favor Haro.

So what did everyone else have? (Likely an amalgam like my Mongoose... GT seatpost, DK neck, Bear claw pedals)

GT Pro Performer, then later a Dyno Compe. Both EXCELLENT bikes, & light as all Hell, & strong too! NOT like the bikes(bricks)of today...

The Pro Performer was the quentisensstial 80s freestyle bike!

A blue GT Pro Performer, but it got stolen on Walzem Road in San Antonio. Later got a purple Dyno, but I can't remember the model.

DYNO NITRO BABY!!!!

I went in to buy a robinson, but the clerk convinced me to go Dyno since it was lighter. Still wish I got that Robinson.

Man I love reading about these old GREAT bikes. I had an '87 Schwinn Predator I believe. Red frame, white tires and mags. Sweet little bike. Enjoyed riding it til some d-bag stole it from my carport. Good times anyways...
