Transformers/My Little Pony/GI Joe connections

So I was reading up on the Hasbro movies of the 80s on wikipedia and I started to notice similar plotlines between the three movies. Here are a few similarities I've noticed:

Weapon-Each movie has a signature weapon that the heroes must find, recover, or activate

MLP-Rainbow of Light

New Characters-Hasbro introduces new characters to the stories, which eventually end up in the toyline
TF-New autobot team, Junkions, Wheelie, Quintessons, Galvatron
MLP-Evil witches, Grundles, Flutter Ponies
GIJoe-Rawhides, Renegades, Cobra-La

Crisis-It's never just a simple story, the fate of the world has to hang in the balance

Character reunions-After splitting up and going on their own adventures, the characters come back together and "there is much rejoicing."
TF-The Autobots are reunited on the Planet of Junk
MLP-Lickety Split, Spike, Morning Glory and the Grundles catch up with the Little Ponies in Flutter Valley
GIJoe-After escaping from Cobra-la, Roadblock and Cobra Commander are
found by the Joes in the Himalayas
